Welcome !

The Nakshatra Astronomy Club IITH is part of the Department of Physics, IIT Hyderabad. Here, we are making an endeavour to grow interests and scientific temper among young generations in the field of Astronomy and Space Research.

Promoting outreach culture in astronomy through talks, observational sessions, and ideas. Looking at the night sky through a Telescope is super-exciting, but sharing the joy and the knowledge with your friends and spreading the interest is another level of success that we want to achieve through our activities. Here we are to be thrilled with you.

Upcoming Public Lecture:

A virtual visit to an astronomical observatory

Prof. Vishal Joshi

Physical Research Laboratory, Ahmedabad

What Do We Do?

Conducting outreach programs consists of observations, science explanations and public lectures

Schedule for night sky observation October 2023 - June 2024: Coming Soon

  Astronomy Observation Sessions

Nakshatra Astronomy Club IITH, put forwarding to explore astronomy research .

We will set up observation sessions periodically. In these sessions, our 14-inch Telescope will be used for observing celestial events and nebulae, planets. Please keep an eye on our events. Informal session involving small quizzes and general discussions.

For school &college students

With this large telescope, we will provide young students an opportunity to study celestial objects in greater detail than other small Telescopes conventionally used for outreach programmes. Activities such as stargazing training programmes, observing astronomical transients, working with celestial images will enhance their knowledge and add to their sense of human connection with space.
